Kids Music Day

Kids Music Day!

More and More each day, music is becoming less valued in people’s lives and in particular in school. Government and teachers prioritise lessons such as Maths and English which don’t get me wrong are 100% necessary and compulsory in schools. But this priority comes at a price!!!

As a result, teaching music is dramatically decreasing in schools. This led to Vincent James and Joann Pierdomenico founded the ‘Keep Music Alive’ campaign to help provide children with the opportunity of learning music.

KIDS MUSIC DAY is celebrated in October to promote the use of music with children and promoting the importance of teaching Music in school. This year it is being celebrated on October 2nd and I aim to help promote Kids Music Day through this blog and other means.

This is my first post regarding Kids Music Day to provide people with awareness before the week and then I aim to publish something different each day on the week leading up to Kids Music Day to highlight the importance. I want to encourage others to promote it as well so that we can keep music alive in schools.

Here is a link to the ‘Keep Music Alive’ website where you can find out more about Kids Music Day and the work that they do: https://www.keepmusicalive.org/kids-music-day

Let me know if you want to get involved in any of the projects that I aim to do or any suggestions of what you would like to see on Kids Music Week :)
